My Sister's Big Day!

I can't believe that August is here already! July was such an event filled month, it just flew by! To start, my oldest sister Jessi because Mrs. Olmsted on July 24th, 2010. I had the pleasure of being her triple threat that day, maid of honor, hair stylist and makeup artist. She made a gorgeous bride, and even though is was 105 degrees with 100% humidity (good ole' Indiana weather), she remained fresh faced and flawless all day!
Of course none of the professional photos are in yet, but I was amazed at how many great photos guests were able to catch, especially those on the balcony! Now as many of your know, dessert tables have been a trend that has really caught on, and I knew that my sister would have to have one...whether she liked it or not :-D. She was such a good sport and really let me take the idea and run with it.
Amy Atlas, eat your heart out!
We had jelly beans, cupcakes, lemon cakes, cinnamon cakes, pirouettes, suckers, rice krispy treats, brownies...a little something for everyone! It came out beautifully, and I really have to thank everyone who contributed to the project, especially my mom for scouring the Goodwill glass section almost weekly trying to find perfect cake stands, my best friend Danielle, who sat and filled and stapled our adorable jelly bean packets, and my step dad Doug for custom making the table top, and basically being our all around handy man. I can't wait to show you all the ring bowl that he made , it was spectacular.

For the reception, Jessi traded in her wedding gown for a light and airy sun dress (with pockets!) to help beat the heat. A celebratory cigar photo was in order... she looks so classy. ;-)

This was my wedding present to the newlyweds. Jason is a huge Cubs fan, and I am quite handy with Photoshop when I need to be. Congratulations Jessi and Jason again, I am so happy for you both!

Next post...my son Memphis' 1st birthday party! Here is a sneak peek...
